Now Showing: Quarantine

Filed under: Entertainment - JiLL @ 4:05 am

After being stagnant in the blogging world for months, here I am again writing about the movie Quarantine.

Yesterday, December 04, 2008, my boyfriend and I watched the movie at Gaisano Cinemas.

The movie centers on TV reporter Angela Vidal who tags along with her camera man, Scott Percival every night to document activities of different groups of people. This time, they were tasked to shoot at a fire department in Los Angeles. They thought they were just making a report about fire fighters but the next thing they knew, they are already trapped inside an apartment which was quarantined due to a report of a virus outbreak which turns animals (including humans) into blood thirsty killers.

The movie uses the same view point as "Blair Witch Project" which is that the movie is seen through a camera lens, which in Quarantine’s case, the TV news camera brought along by Scott. That’s why I had a difficult time analyzing the situation because of the "shaky" visualizations brought about by the camera while the actors are running.
